Create A Positive Life

Hey guys!

Ok, so let’s get real for a second… Here we are, almost halfway through the year. If you are anything like me you have probably set goals for yourself to reach by the end of 2016. We work and work and work and then come the obstacles that will either make or break us in our journey.

By this time in the year a lot of new-year resolutions have slumped back in the dark forgotten corners of the mind and people have returned to the comfort of doing the same ole, same ole. Then there are the determined folks, like us (because let’s be honest, if you weren’t determined you wouldn’t be here!). Facing the same (or similar) obstacles in reaching our goals as everybody else does but instead of slumping back into failure and getting comfortable again we break through it! Right?

In a perfect world that is how it goes, and it seems easy when the words are in front of you but if it were really, truly easy…everybody would do it. In the past I have found that around this time is when I start really loosing my motivation to follow through with the goals that I have set for myself. Last month I could really feel it, which is why I took part in the Boho Berry ActionChallenge. I stepped up and took care of what needed to be done. I took action.

I am still breaking free of my personal doubts though and honestly, I still have quite a lot of negative thoughts. I am actively moving away from these thoughts but when you spend your life swimming in negativity it can severely affect you. I try and keep trying. But, alas, it’s a hard switch to flip.

Which is why I set up a defense, a defense against negative thinking and a defense against giving up on my goals.

I have employed several different methods to make sure I am on track and if I do fall off the proverbial wagon and have an off day I know that I will hop right back on because failure….is most definitely not an option. Do you feel the same?

My first line of defense is my bullet journal.

Part of the “life S.A.V.E.R.S.” in the Miracle Morning, “scripting” is a wonderful way to keep your brain straight! I am also a huge fan of the community that surrounds it ( I love you guys!). I love being surrounded (even on social media) by other people who are planning to succeed. It inspires me to be a better person, blogger and it helps me tremendously when I feel like just walking away. I have met some wonderful ladies that have repeatedly inspired me and kicked me in the butt to be better and not quit!

Planning… Lists… Journaling… BULLET JOURNALING… These things are what keeps my life in order. They help keep me on the little tasks that I need to complete for the day/week/month, they help take my mind off of stress and panic, they help with everything! 😉

Second comes the vision boards.

Or maybe first comes vision boards? I don’t know Planning and Vision Boards are both so super helpful! (Visualizations are also a part of the “life S.A.V.E.R.S.” in the Miracle Morning and I absolutely love them!)

Vision boards are something that you create with images and/or words that visually remind you how you want to feel, where you want to be and even some material things that you are working towards.

I have a Pinterest vision board that I started when I started doing Miracle Morning, I use this to see where I want to be ultimately in my life. Traveling, being free and adventurous. This bored helps me focus on the things that I personally want deep down in my soul. However, Pinterest is easily distracting so even though I still look here I like something that doesn’t involve social media, so I also use my journal.

Third, I use Mantras and Affirmations.

(Also… part of the “life S.A.V.E.R.S.” in the Miracle Morning! See a trend here?) This is what will help you really believe in yourself! Yes, sometimes (especially at first) it feels stupid. But hey, why should we feel stupid in front of ourselves?

What is a mantra and what is an affirmation? A mantra is a word or sound that is repeated to help concentration during meditation. An affirmation is a way to support and affirm yourself emotionally.

My mantra word is “POSITIVE”. I repeat it daily, multiple times a day to remind myself to stay away from negative thoughts, because they are poisonous.

You can look at vision boards and make goal lists all you want but if you do not believe in yourself ( and tell yourself that you believe ) you will probably end up failing.

These are the #1 ways to turn your thoughts away from negativity. Positive reminders, thoughts and repetition…

By repeating positive mantras and affirmations to yourself you are saying ” hey, brain, listen up… I am tired of all that negativity yo… it stops now and we are going to be that epic person we always knew we were! Ya hear?!”. So get past the negative thoughts of “its stupid” and say heck yeah to affirmations and mantras! Just saying…

A couple of weeks ago I received an email from the lovely Luisa from Gloment telling me that her and her best friend had started this company to create motivational posters for people around the world that needed some daily inspiration to create the life they wanted.
