I have gotten a few questions via social media about my recent change back into a Traveler’s Notebook. Mostly wondering the why of it all and so on. What better way to ease the wondering than a blog post all about it!?
I change my mind so much I believe it may be time for therapy, but that aside, I have mentioned previously that I was making a big move into a TN, or is this considered a small one? Because I had (almost) finished my Leuchtturm1917 bullet journal and it was time for change.
Anyway, the point is that today is the first of June and I am finally, officially, all moved into my TN (traveler’s notebook) and man, is it good to be back. I talked about my “minimalistic” bullet journal experience HERE, and you know what, it worked. It did what it was supposed to do, I was less of a maniac with the simple-ness of everything, it got me through school, and it helped me save some …SOME… money on supplies, but not enough to really notice. However, after living in a personal sized TN for so long, carrying the leuchtturm1917 around and writing on the pages just made me want something smaller again.
Enter the A6 life. Small, more “carry-around-able” and cute as hell, plus my planner friend, J. Caoilfhionn, from Imperfectly Perfekt, puts her A6 journal in the back of an A6 TN. Which B T Dubbs, I love and totally copied. Now I get to use this “hybrid” system again, where I get the inserts for little things and collections but then I also get to have a more bullet journal-y notebook in the back that will last longer then 2 months. Looooooove it.
I have ordered (and received) inserts from Lime Life Planners and I will do a review of them over on my YouTube Channel on Monday, but for a quick overview, the paper is thick. Like, brick-house thick, and so so so smooth. They offer a lot of options, including different layouts (I have the dot grid) and covers, also, today was the launch day of 3 new sizes! Definitely check them out!
So, I have 4 inserts, 3 Lime Life and a Rhodia dot grid snug in the back pocket. I use the Rhodia for bullet journaling, one insert for personal collections, one for BodilyDesignCo. and one for blogging and YouTube.
I chose not to put any journaling notebooks in this because I wanted to keep it all planner stuff and I am still filling up my personal journal that I bought a few months ago.
I have made a few folders and a dashboard for this beauty and I am in heaven. I love the size, the inserts the set-up ( video coming tomorrow ) and the cover <3<3 which of course is from my favorite shop on earth, Imperfectly Perfekt. I got this off of her BST section over on facebook while I am waiting on the WonderLand Apothecary one I ordered a while back. I do plan on, what’s the phrase? “Collecting them all” *insert laughing emoji*
I posted a while back on “Finding what worked for me”( May have been deleted during my “MOVE” to self hosting, sorry!), and looking back, I think, how naïve. While I really am a TN Girl through and through, as discovered recently during my relapse into the leuchtturm1917 world, I also realize that I seriously may never make up my mind 100%. I have found planner peace in the form of bullet journaling, and in TNs, and I truly love the A6 size dearly and currently have peace here. But maybe someday that will change, I’m cool with it.
I think that one of the best parts of being human is the joy of being able to change our minds about stuff, for me this is deciding where I want to have my bullet journal for the next few months, what pen I hold dear for the day and what my favorite color is ( it seriously changes based on my mood).
I chose to move back into a TN because, while the leauchtturm1917 has a lot of pages and is wide, I still had the same issues/annoyances with my collections as I did before, even though the notebook lasted longer. A traveler’s notebook helps because I can keep all of my collections in one area and everything else can rotate.
I have said it before, and now that I am back, I will say it again. I Love Traveler’s Notebooks<3
Have a wonderful end-of-week and a fabulous June!
